Idaho's second city is twenty minutes from our West Boise shop and inside our regular loop. Very hard well water, a downtown of older houses, a ring of 2000s subdivisions and a deep rental stock give Nampa its own pattern of failures. We bring the meter, name the part, write one price and repair from the truck.

The truck picks up I-84 at Five Mile or Cole Rd and leaves it at Garrity Blvd for the Idaho Center side, at Franklin Rd for the north end, or at Karcher Rd and Nampa-Caldwell Blvd for the west. Downtown, the Nampa Train Depot and the blocks around 12th Ave are about twenty minutes door to door; the 83686 south toward Lake Lowell and Northwest Nazarene University runs a few minutes more. We group Nampa stops so one technician can cover the 83687 around the Ford Idaho Center in the morning and be on Southside Blvd by early afternoon. Nampa has two kinds of houses and both keep us busy. The older core near downtown and the Depot dates from the 1910s through the 1960s, with basement or back-porch laundry, undersized circuits and kitchens that have been remodeled around the original plumbing. The 2000s growth around the Idaho Center and along Midland Blvd is the opposite: identical builder packages aging on the same schedule. What unites them is the water. Nampa's city wells run very hard, and the scale that builds in an ice-maker valve or a dishwasher sump here is thicker than anything we see in Boise proper. The rental share is large, so a good part of our Nampa week is tenant at the door, owner on text.

A refrigerator in a 2006 two-story off Can-Ada Rd, ice maker silent for a month. The mold was fine; the fill valve had scaled nearly shut and the meter showed the coil intact. Valve replaced, fill tube cleared of a white plug the size of a pencil, first harvest before the technician packed up.
A rental near the Depot, electric dryer tripping the breaker halfway through a load. The heating element had shorted to its housing. The tenant showed the machine, the owner approved by text from Boise, the element went in from truck stock, and the vent behind the dryer was straightened where it had been crushed flat.
Top-load washer on a well outside city water, filling for fifteen minutes and stopping. Both screens caked white, the cold valve stuck partly open and dripping into the tub between loads. Valve assembly replaced, screens cleaned, and the homeowner told plainly that a softener would slow the next one down.
A gas range in a 1950s house near the university, oven cold while the burners worked. The bake igniter glowed dim orange and never drew enough current to open the valve. New igniter, oven cycled to 350 and held, written warranty left on the counter.

Nampa's wells produce some of the hardest water we see. Scale narrows ice-maker fill valves, coats dishwasher elements until glasses come out cloudy, and stiffens washer inlet valves so they drip or stall. The technician checks those points first on any water-using machine in the 83651, 83686 or 83687. If a softener has run out of salt or failed, we say so.
Constantly. The tenant lets the technician in, the diagnosis and one written price go to the owner by text, approval comes back by reply, and the invoice and written warranty follow by email. We can group several units around the Idaho Center or downtown on one route day, and early or late windows are available for tenants who work shifts.
For a refrigerator or freezer that has gone warm, yes, Monday to Saturday, with the truck routed from West Boise along I-84. Dryers, washers, dishwashers, ranges and ice makers are booked same week and often next day. Nampa stops are grouped, so calling before noon gives the best chance of a window that afternoon.
