When one French-door refrigerator in Lochsa Falls loses its fresh-food side, the same model two doors down is often a season behind. Meridian’s builder-installed refrigerators age together. Sawtooth puts a warm refrigerator first in the day, ten minutes from the shop, meters the defrost circuit and compressor, and writes one price before any part moves.

Same $99 diagnostic, same written quote, same written warranty on every machine we fix in Meridian.

Meridian was built in waves. Paramount and Bridgetower filled in through the 2000s, Lochsa Falls and Tuscany around the same time, then Ten Mile Crossing and the townhomes near The Village at Meridian through the 2010s and into the 2020s. Each wave came with a refrigerator package, often the same model across an entire phase. So the failures come in waves too: a run of defrost heaters in one 2008 street, a run of evaporator fans in a 2014 one. From Five Mile Rd the truck is on Ustick or Eagle Rd and into any of those neighborhoods in ten minutes, and the technician usually knows the model before opening the door.
A call from Bridgetower on a July afternoon went this way. The refrigerator had been running loud for a week, then the fresh-food side climbed to 50°F while the freezer held. The house had been closed up against the heat, so the kitchen was warm too. Behind the back panel the evaporator was a block of ice; the defrost heater had failed and frost had shut the air path to the top. The condenser coil underneath was felted with the dust that blows off the construction lots to the south. Heater replaced, coil cleaned, temperatures verified, written warranty on the counter, all before the technician left for Eagle Rd.
Defrost failure, almost every time on the French-door and side-by-side units in Meridian’s 2000s and 2010s houses. Heater, defrost thermostat or control has quit and the evaporator has iced over. The technician meters the heater and thermostat and replaces the failed one from the truck.
A start relay or overload on the compressor, or a compressor pulling high amps and cutting out. The technician meters the relay and windings. A relay is a quick truck part; a failed compressor gets a written opinion on whether the refrigerator is worth it, given its age.
Cold garage: the thermostat sees under 40°F and stops calling for cooling, so the freezer thaws. Hot garage: the coil packs with dust and the compressor overheats. The technician writes down the garage temperature, confirms the unit is healthy or not, and explains what that model can tolerate.
A defrost drain frozen or clogged, a water line to the dispenser cracked, or a drain pan shifted during a move-in. The technician clears the drain, runs the dispenser and traces the water. Common in Meridian rentals where the refrigerator has been moved between tenants.
A condenser coil felted with dust and August smoke, a condenser fan stopped, or a gasket that dried and shrank in winter air. The technician cleans the coil, meters the fan and checks the seal with a light before blaming anything else.
An evaporator fan with a failing bearing, or one that has iced up and stopped. The technician pulls the freezer back panel, meters the fan and looks at the frost pattern, which also tells whether the defrost cycle has been running.
A thermometer goes in each compartment and a hand on the compressor before the back comes off. Then the meter: compressor amperage, start relay, condenser and evaporator fans, defrost heater and thermostat, control board. The evaporator’s frost pattern gets read, because a sheet of ice across it means defrost and a bare coil with a warm cabinet means something else. On a garage unit the garage temperature gets written down. The technician then names the part, says why it failed in a Meridian house of that age, and writes the price with the $99 diagnosis already in it. A warm refrigerator usually gets fixed in that same visit.
Meridian’s builders installed Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, GE and Frigidaire refrigerators by the hundred, and the truck carries defrost heaters, thermostats, fans, relays, gaskets and water valves for all of them, plus KitchenAid, Maytag and Kenmore. Property managers with rentals in Tuscany, near The Village and around Ten Mile Crossing get the tenant visit, approve by text and receive the invoice and written warranty by email. The rule for every refrigerator in 83642 and 83646 is the same: the $99 diagnostic is inside the repair you approve, $99 is the whole bill if you decline, and all pricing comes after the diagnostic, in writing.
Yes, during business hours Monday to Saturday. Meridian is ten minutes from the shop, so a warm refrigerator in Paramount or Tuscany gets the first open window and is usually running again the same day. Call rather than using the form so dispatch can move it up.
Because every house got the same refrigerator. Builders in Meridian buy appliance packages by the phase, so a whole street of 2010 houses shares one model, and that model’s defrost heater or fan reaches the end of its life on roughly the same calendar. The technician sees it constantly.
Only if it is built for it. Most refrigerators stop running when the garage drops below about 40°F, because the thermostat thinks the job is done, and the freezer thaws. Garage-ready models with a heater kit keep going. The technician can tell you which yours is.
The tenant meets the technician. The diagnosis happens at the unit, the written price goes to the owner or property manager by text, and the repair starts on approval. The invoice and written warranty are emailed to the owner. Most Meridian rental refrigerators are fixed the same visit.
Usually, if the failure is a defrost part, a fan or a relay, which covers most of them. The technician gives you a written price and a plain read on the unit’s condition. If the compressor has failed on an older builder unit, you get that in writing too, so the decision is yours.
Call (208) 813-1132 or send the form. Most requests get a callback within the hour in business time, with a real arrival window.
The technician tests the machine with a meter, names the failed part in plain words, and writes one flat price. The $99 is already inside it.
We stock the high-failure parts for the brands Treasure Valley homes actually own, so most jobs close on the spot; ordered parts return with no second trip fee.
Full test cycle before we pack up, a tidy work area after, and a written warranty in your hand.
One call starts it: $99 diagnostic, one written number, repair from the truck, written warranty.
